The Amusing History of Our Name

During an international chairitable event in Miami in the 1970's, a group of diverse royals and nobles assembled to supoort the Red Cross, The Order of St. John and local charities.   As part of the publicity surrounding the event, HRH Prince Tomislav, the first Chairman of the Society, was mentioned as being the grandson of the legendary Queen Marie of "Tomania" instead of "Romania."

Many years later, the Society discovered to some chagrin that "Tomania" was a name used in a controversial parody of WWII made in the 1940's starring Charlie Chaplin!

The Prince, who was a very down to earth kind of guy, mentioned that he found it very funny and served as a warning that it could serve to remnid us not to take position too seriously.
